Terms
Clear from the start:
Darío covers
- His flight
- His machines and his laptop
- His non-consumable materials
The studio covers
- Accommodation during the guest spot
- Consumable materials
- A full book: the studio announces the guest spot and takes care of booking the clients
The split
- 50% for the studio, 50% for Darío
- Tips go entirely to Darío
Why 50/50?
The industry norm is to give the guest artist 60%, 70% or even more and have them pay for their own accommodation. But the less the studio earns, the less interest it has in filling the artist’s book. Darío would rather the studio that hosts him makes real money: with 50/50 and accommodation included, your studio takes half of every tattoo, you both pull in the same direction, and the book fills up. After many years of guest spots, it’s the split that works best for everyone.
The secret is in the technique
What sets a Darío tattoo apart shows over the years. His technique, honed in dozens of studios across the Canary Islands, mainland Spain, the UK and Germany (London was his big leap; Germany and his own studio perfected it), makes tattoos super fine and super solid at the same time: more beautiful than usual today and always. And he isn’t limited to one style: he masters them all at the highest level, so he can take on any idea your studio’s clients bring.
Styles
- Colour and black & grey realism
- Fine line
- Blackwork and ornamental
- Neo-traditional
- Lettering and calligraphy
- Fully custom designs
- Cover-ups and large pieces in full-day sessions
